Sorry for the language. Ever since I own the car, I keep having trouble with it from day one. The latest addition, two bolts for the cross member that secure transmittion can not be mounted to the car. The base is shreaded. The dealership has to send my car to the body shop (my friend is a manager there, what a coincident!). so, he told me what they should be to fix it.
They have to cut out thread from the body and weld a new base back to the car. I know they are very good. but, S2K is not going to be MY S2K anymore.

I have called America Honda to take care of it. I left a message, hope they will call back sometime soon.

Now, What can I do? I think this is too much trouble. I was going to send a letter to everybody in America Honda last time when I have broken reverse gear. now, I think I will send it the letter and see what happens to it.

It seems to me you have a very good case against under the lemon law. I would first threaten honda with a suit. See what action happens, then proceed from there. The question is do you want a new s2000? Or, money for your time etc? I personally would not like to have a car which you drill into the support even if the best mechanics did this. IMO

good luck

As a person with several years of litigation experience, let me suggest the following.

1. Send a well written letter to the fine folks at Honda by certified mail/ return reciept.

2. At the bottom of the letter, indicate that you have also forwarded a copy of it to your State Attorney Generals Office, the Federal Trade Commision and the Federal Consumer Product Safety Commision.

3.Throughout the body of the letter, continually reference your fear that this repair might well render the car unsafe and will certainly decrease the value of your automobile.

Large companies are becoming very leery of people who forewarn of possible dire consequences, regardless of how rational these fears are.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

Thanks all. I will keep everyone update on what is going on. I hope I get a new car. One thing I hate the most is that the service guys makes it sound so easy and that it is ok to cut the car up and weld a new part to it.

Now, that insurance diminished value defintly kicks in and see what happen to it. I am just afriad of the part that got welded to the car will rust first. as you know, rust is contagious to body of the car.

Thanks again.
