My S2K rides like absolute-CRAP!!!!!!
I have had my car for about a month now, and have been having so much fun with it that I have failed to notice a big problem; this car has THE HARSHEST ride I have EVER felt!!! My friend has a Acura CLs with CUT AND HEATED springs and it feels like a cadillac compared to my S2000!!! Over speed bumps it feels smooth, but any slight abrasion or uneveness in the road feels like the entire car is going to vibrate apart. I'm really hoping that its because I have those spring-spacer thingys i've overheard some of you talk about that come on the car for shipping. Could someone PLEASE explain to me what they look like and how to take them out if they are there? (Hopefully!!) Thanks!!
check the faq section (menu at the top) for the spring spacer info.
its not that harsh. riding in a mustang with polygraphyte suspension bushings all over and koni reds set to hard as a daily driver and then going to a lighter ride as a miata R model with bilsteins all around from the factory, this...as a sports car rides quite omfortably.
and your friend with cut and heated springs, well, I could give you warnings, or tell you stories aobut how bad that is, but lets just say, the shocks will be shot pretty quicky because they are out of the optimal wear range where its supposed to be, and if they are just heated springs with a torch, then well... and no cooling (like in oil) then most likely, (I've seen it before), he'll be driving down the street one day and *snap*. yup, its how it happens when you want to do the half-ass way of lowering your car by trying to save a few pennies.

First off, this is a street-going race car. If you truly expected a luxo-barge ride, sell it now and get a Lincoln.
If you really wanted this car because of its capabilities, check the springs for black "brass knuckles"-looking spacers. The dealer should have removed these as part of the pre-delivery inspection but some have slipped by.

Wanabe has the right idea. Get under your car and check to make sure the spacers are out. They are easily seen if you know what your looking for. This is a common problem on new S2K's! If the dealer leaves even one in it will ruin your handling.
Better check for those spacers. I think my S2k has a too-plush ride and very soft damping. That does make for poor handling on certain types of rough pavement but not the harshness you describe.

thanks for your replies.....and guys.... I KNOW its supposed to ride like a sports car!! I have had my share of real sports cars (m roadster, lowered M3). But trust me....this rides ridiculously harsh!! Im gonna check for those spacers!!
Strut tower brace seemed to help the car from shaking so much when going over bumps, potholes and the like. That has been my experience and seemingly others, judging from what they have posted about stbs.
