I have this problem with my MY03. I push down on the shifter and move it into position, but it wont go into gear. I am actually gonna have Honda look at it when I get a chance. (seems they are closed when I'm off). Other then that, did you guys push down on the shifter and go where 6th gear is?

Well, if that was the case, I would go back. Tell the dealership to knock off another $5k since it's a faulty tranny and you will take it anyways Just make sure you can get it into 6th first

dont mean to post again, but when you say push down do you mean like press the top of the shift knob down. my gf has a vw cabrio and to get into reverse you have to press the shift knob down and then put it in reverse. is the s2000 the same way?

Yep....push the knob down and hold it down while putting it into Reverse (or 6th gears spot).

Don't feel bad. I took delivery of my s2k, drove it home... then went to back out of the driveway and couldn't figure out why I kept going into 6th!! Eventually I figured out that you must push down.

Have fun with the car!

Yeah, you have to push down on the top of the shifter. Actually it helps to move the stick into 5th first, then push down and move it into reverse. It has a lockout so you don't mis-shift. Buy the car and enjoy. There was an advertisement in the Palm Beach Post this morning for a '03 S2000 at Braman's at WPB for $ 28,900. Check it out and talk 'em down. -Ken
