Default My04(f20c) In Hawaii

I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS FORUM FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW AND ANXIOUSLY COUNTING THE DAY WHEN I WILL ONE DAY BUY MY OWN S AND SOMETHING OCCURD TO ME.... I WAS JUST THINKING WHICH MOTOR F20 OR F22 THE S2K's IN HAWAII GET..

I REALIZE THAT IT IS A STATE OF AMERICA BUT I DON'T SEE ANY HONDA PLANTS THERE AND AM ASSUMING IT MIGHT EVEN BE CHEAPER FOR THE DEALERS TO SHIP THE CARS RIGHT FROM JAPAN VERSE FROM NORTH AMERICAN PLANTS?!

IF THAT IS THE CASE WOULD THE CARS THEN BE JDM SPEC (F20C) AND WHEN I'M READY TO BUY ONE WOULDN'T IT BE CHEAPER TO HAVE IT SHIPPED FROM THERE RATHER THAN JAPAN DIRECTLY.

I'M SORRY TO ASK BUT I'VE RUN SEARCHS ON HONDA DEALERS IN HAWAII AND COME UP WITH NOTHING. I'M ALSO A DIE HARD FOR THE 9K REDLINE, IT'S WHAT GOT MY ATTENTION BACK IN 99' AND I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE THAT CHARACTARISTIC IN A BRAND NEW S2K AND SEEING AS HOW I WONT BE BUYING ONE THIS YEAR, I'M GUESSING IMPORTING IS THE ONLY WAY?

ANY IDEAS? ALTERNATIVES? INFO? ARE WELCOME.

Sorry dude. All S2000's are made in Japan and exported. The only way to get an F20C equipped S2000 would be to buy a used one, find an '03 still sitting on a lot somewhere (doubt there is one), or get one from out of North America.

Very difficult to get one from out of NA since there are major obstacles in the way of importing .... I know because someone from the US was looking into importing mine from Japan and it just wasn't going to be possible without spending a LOT of cash !!

If you ship a car open, i.e. not in a container, from Japan to the UK it only costs about US$1,000 and that is for an individual to ship 1 car. Honda are shipping thousands of cars so their shipping costs must be pretty small in comparison to the overall price of the car .....

Interesting, i wonder if anybody has asked a dealer how much more it would be shipped through honda?

Assuming you find a nice enough dealer shouldn't the cost for the a MY04 s2k be the same even with the f20c motor.. After all if they are all shipped from Japan how much trouble could it be to throw on an S from the next assembly line on a boat?

O and would JDM S2K's be street legal here in NA? Actually for that matter the UK, Jap, and Australia are all right hand drivers.. Correct... or to they still make 04's (with a f20c) in left hand driver?
