Default From MY04 to MY07

Got a new 07 for less than $31 out the door (I know some have gotten better deals). Initial impressions going from the old to the new:

Clutch is much softer. Too soft in my view. Can't feel the engagement point as well.

I swear the car is slightly quieter. Maybe additional sound proofing?

People say the stability control is not quick to engage. I think that's not quite right. I see the light come on under very mild conditions, but it doesn't shut things down. I think it engages frequently to brake one wheel, but not retard throttle unless it has to.

The radio is MUCH better than the old OEM. Not great, but much better.

So far no heat out of the center tunnel cup holders.

Ofcourse, the alignment was all over the place even though the dealership claims to have checked it.

I always thought I might trade my 04 in on a final year model, but that was before dbw... I just don't think I want a dbw car, stability control or no. I have noticed the 06+ seem to have more sound proofing in the doors though...they have a nice solid thunk when closed.

contact "pierceman" aka Matt Piercey. Hands down the best guy to buy an s2k in socal from. He'll give you a great price. I have no idea what 07s are going for these days, but when I was looking for an s2k back in 05 he was selling them for around 29.5 before TTL.

Just ask around the socal forum, Matt Piercey is hands down the way to go

Thats funny... I went from GPW 02 to GPW 06. You shouldn't speak so negatively of your car. Hate is such a strong word... Besides, your car probably heard you say that.

That's likely due more to the newness than any change. I've driven a few S2000s right after clutch jobs, and the ALL had a much softer clutch feel compared to before the work, and other older cars. Your '04 when new likely felt exactly like your '07 does now, you've just gotten used to the feel of an older S2000.

Interesting issue. The first thing I noticed on test driving the 2007 was that the clutch felt "soft" (whatever that means! lol.) and engaged too close to the floor.

I now have only around 75 miles on my '07, so it's too early for me to weigh in, but it's not bothering me too much. True, I have stalled the car twice on take off from a stop . . . but that could be pilot error at this point.
