Hahaha! Well, my mail to their "support team" bounced back to me, so there goes that idea. Oh well, I tried.

I agree though... ebay really needs a "report this bastard" button.

I emailed "Chuck" and got the same response. I responded to it and basically told him he was full of it. I went on to say that If the deal was legit, I would bypass his "deposit", and be on a plane in the morning with cash in hand to pick the car up. He actually replied to that and said he would have to check with his "brother in-law."

I bet it was because of me. I emailed Ebay and him saying that I would report this scam to appropriate local authorities and federal enforcement. I guess both Ebay and he were scared of it. As if I would have time to report it.

Heeheee...Just got an email from Chuck, saying: "What's wrong with you?", because I basically emailed him saying that I will report this scam to the feds. As if I would have time to do it for real.

What's wrong with me? Nothing! Just trying to prevent someone from losing $2 grand because of some bastard.

From its grammar, it sounds like some foreigner or immigrant trying to scam people out. Im not an expert on broken grammar, but from the way it sounds, it sounds like vietnamese. I like his/her Chuck Conner touch.

I get these scams all the time in ebay especially with laptops. I get emails mainly from russia and indonesia. Sometimes it will come somewhere in the states, but through a wire transer via western union.

Come to think of it, the last one was from a person with over 56 100% positive feedbacks that wants me to wire the funds via western union to london as well. I suspected that he has tapped into someones ebay account as I did not see any transactions in the last 6 months. He even has his email set up on the ebay account. I believe he set his/her name to some common american name such as our Chuck Conner. To test him/her, I asked him/her to ship the laptop first, he/she said ok. But as soon as I agreed to go with the deal, he/she insisted that I should send the money first. I told him/her that why go behind ebay when he/she can list the same model and get at least 2 to 3 hundred more anytime. Even with the auction cost he/she will still come out ahead. He/she just kept responding saying that he/she has a direct supplier from japan and got a good cost for it. Last time I checked, this particular laptop is only manufactured in China. I reported this to ebay, hopefully we can get rid of one more hacked account.

gj purple. Its a good thing to get rid of these fraudulent people.

Check this out. Almost exact same text letter but Chuck has a new name, same address!! This was for an M3. There was also one for an H2 and the guy wanted the buyer to use www.escrow1st.com or something and it was a scam too!! Buy local I guess

>>Hi,

I've just read your email and I think that we can start the deal only if you understand that I'm a very serious eBay member and for this reason I put pre-approved list, to be sure that the winner will be 100% agree with all my payment and shipping details.
The car has a clear title and will be shipped along with it. I am selling it because I need a lot of money in a very short time to start a new bussiness in London UK. I must be sure that the winner will be a seriuous eBay member too. I will ship the car and after you will recieve it and test it you will send me the money. I've just arrived London, Uk and I'll be staying here for a couple of months, I will ask my brother in law to ship you the car, but in order to
make sure that the winner is serious and I will not lose the shipping money I must ask you to send me a refundable deposit of $3000 here in London. For this deposit I accept only money order via western union.

Here is my NAME AND ADDRESS for payment:James Bittman, 71 Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 1HS United Kingdom. The car will shiped immediately after I have the payment confirmation from you. You will mail me the confirmation that should include the FULL sender's name and address and also the money transfer control number that registers the transfer, so I can check it online. I will also need your full name and the address where you want the car to be shipped. You will recive the car in 5 or 7 days depends on your location and I expect an answer from you as soon as you have it. If you decide to keep the car and I don't see any reason why you won't do that, you should send me the rest of the money on my account in maximum 7 days. Thanks for your attention and I am looking forward to hear from you.

Respectfully,
James Bittman<<

that's for sure. I wonder if someone should contact the English police about this schmuck. I'm sure he's breaking some of their laws.
