Default MY05 Color Rumors?

Hi,

Great forum/site here--you all are a great source of information. I have always loved the S2000 and am dangerously close to buying one. Last year I waited because I'd heard the rumors of the model change coming and wanted to see what the 2004 had. I recently had the chance to drive an 04 Suzuka and loved it. My dilemma: I've always loved the Silvertone, and probably with the (new) red/black interior; however, I've not yet been able to find/see one other than the pictures here. My wife loves the Suzuka and it is probably my second choice--it has grown on me a lot (maybe fueled by the fact I think I could get her to go for that) :-)

So--I'm still weighing whether to a) spring for the Suzuka which is still on my local dealer's lot. They are still doing the OVER sticker markup, but suggested they would settle for sticker. Pisses me off and that's probably a big reason why I haven't done anything yet. Everything I read here suggests that something under sticker is perfectly reasonable, which is my position as well.

Option b) is to search regionallyl for the silverstone/red combo--see what it looks like and then negotiate the best deal I can.

Or...c) hold out to see if any new colors are coming in 2005. I'm not in a position of "gotta have one now" and honestly, I LOVE the dark blue (used to be Monte Carlo, now whatever...the deep blue color that everyone seems to have these days). That would be my first choice far and away and I probably would pay sticker for that--I think it would look really classy with tan.

So, am I dreaming and this is just NOT going to happen, or are there any color rumors out there? I don't even know when Honda makes those decisions, but figure it has to be well in advance of when the new cars come out. I've searched high and low and can't find even a hint of a rumor. Figure if anyplace knows this is it--any thoughts, or am I waaaayyy to early for that?

Thanks for all your help--great site/great posts. I'll keep you posted on my quest.

I believe the 2005 color charts get sent to the dealers in may. Since you don't have to have one "right now" you can wait it out a bit. If they offer a new color that you like, the wait will be worth it. If they don't you should be able to find a 2004 Silverstone/Red combo by doing some research. It won't be hard to find what you want at a couple grand under MSRP. Good luck with your future S2000!

i agree, wait until the color chart comes out, then decide, Honda wont be changing anything performance wise, just looks of interior and maybe paint color choices will change, good luck

The way I see it is if there are colours (colors) available now that you like, why not just get one now?? At this point nobody knows what the MY05 colours (colors) will be, and they may not even change anyway..

I wish they would make a S2K in a bright blue pearl, kinda like the Acura color that was avalialbe for the TL-S. I also would spring for the moon rock color if it was available for the S2K, never been one for black, but the moonrock is stunning.

Hey UVAHOO,

There is a silverstone at Colonial Honda in Petersburg if you just wanna check it out. I did a search at hondacars.com to find that.

There is NO WAY I would pay close to MSRP. I just bought one Saturday but I had a trade in, I figure I got mine around the low $30,000.

Good Luck, If you get one I don't think you will regret it!!
