Default MY05 temperature 8 bars

Hey guys, I remember I used to be running 7 bars in the temperature gauge, but lately it has been at 8 bars. Is this temperature range safe? I took it to the dealer to check and they said everything was ok. It is a MY05. Thanks for the help.

If you're including among the 8 bars, the one which is always on, then you're fine. The stock AP2 temperature gauge is little more than an idiot light, with the 8th bar coming on at 178 degrees F, and the 9th bar not coming on until 225 degrees F. For most of us, we only ever see 8 bars lighted when the car is fully warmed up.

That's why I bought the Modifry ECT mod, which transforms the display into a useful one.

Hmm, i'm just counting a total of 8 orange sqaures (or trapezoids whatever you wanna call them). I'm not including that red line.

Heh... I forgot that the AP2's had a lot more coolant bars... 8 bars on my AP1 would be like the surface of the sun or something.

It's not the red line I'm talking about. The first LED that actually lights isn't connected to anything; it always lights when you turn the car on.

Take a look at Modifry's ECT webpage for the full explanation.

I would like to order this item, but the "add to cart" button seems to be missing from that page.

That sends you to another page where you pick which ECU you have and then there is nowhere to go from there. I have Emailed for help.

That's when the backup nuclear fusion engine kicks in.
