Default MY06 Center console on AP1

I recently bought a MY02 and want to do a MY06 center console swap. My defroster button is behind the steering wheel on the right side, right under the gauge cluster, but on the MY06 it's on the center console.

Can a MY06 owner look at where my defroster button is (or take a picture) so I can see what it looks like? I'm wondering if there's a little panel I can snap in there to delete that defroster button.

Has anyone else done a MY06 center console swap?

Hello, for complete the my06 console swap you must have this wire harness..

I think for you is more simple swap the my 04-05 console

Luca.

The MY06 has its "VSA Off" switch in the same position as your defroster button.

I think there's a blank you can buy to cover the hole where the defrost is now on your car. I'm not positive though.

The defroster switch is on the center console in the 06's? I have a hardtop and have been debating where to make/put a defrost button for it. That would be perfect...Maybe i should sell my MY04 center console and get one of these...hmmm

What is that harness and where do I get it?

I'm not afraid of doing a little wiring. I AM afraid of any sort of physical modification (drilling, cutting, gluing). I really like the dark look of the MY06 radio door and center console and I want to do them both.

This wire harness is the factory harness for rear defrost on my04>06Eu, you can find it in Europe and the price of it is around 560$, too much for a pice of it

Also you can find the cover in japan ( now the centre console on my06 jdm its the same to my04-05 USDM)

Bye Luca..

For resolve your problem you can buy the My06 console cover and the defrost switch ( and you don't have to link) and continue to use the defroster button behind the steering wheel.

In this way you will "survive" many money, time, patience..

Have a nice day Luca.

Jesus, that's a big wiring harness!!

Thank you very much for the pics.

I may look into the possibility of just running some wires down there and hunting down that one plug instead of getting a whole wiring harness..
