MY2005 or 2006?
I did a search, but didn't see anyone else asking this so here goes:
I'm really close to buying a new '05 s2000, but after seeing the '06 changes I'm having trouble deciding if I should wait. The new features that I really caught my eye on the MY2006 are VSA, DBW, and Brake-assist. I think VSA will be a good thing, esp. if you can turn if off completly if you want. DBW could be a bad thing, but I'm confident that Honda will do it right. I don't see how brake-assist could be a good thing.
Now to my problem:
I consider myself a good driver, but I've only really driven front wheel drive cars (I currently drive an RSX-S) that are very easy and predictable at their handling limits. I've heard that the s2000 can be pretty twitchy and easy to spin if you don't know how to drive a rear wheel drive car well at it's limits. For this reason, I'd consider waiting for a 2006 model for VSA, but I'm scared of what DBW and Brake-assist could do to a car that feels so connected. I'm also worried that VSA could make me too confident, and that maybe it would be better if I didn't use it, and instead learned to drive the car properly. I can also get a pretty good deal on an '05 right now.
What do you guys think?

I say if you don't need a car immediately, wait around for the 06, test drive it and see how you like it. There are bound to be reports on it before it's released that you can read as well. By then, if you don't feel that the 06 is the right car for you, the 05's will be discounted b/c they're last years model and you'll get a better deal on them. That's probably the best route to take.
wait for the MY06 and go for a test drive....in almost all cases newer is always better. if you don't like the MY06, you'd be able to get even better deals on the left over MY05's.
i'd definitely like to have the new stereo and VSA....take a test drive and see how the DBW feels (and if VSA can be fully disabled...a lot of VSA systems can't be).

I'm in the same boat, but I had not heard of the better stereo on the 06's...are there details on this?
And does anyone know when the 06's come in?
