Default Mystery button.

Took possession of my 00 S2K in September 99, just joined S2Ki (okay, call be slacker), and still can't find out what the under-dash button is for (left of steering column, a few inches below front of dash). It's apparently meant to be functional since it's got a wire attached. Potential nitro activator? Parachute release? Thanks!

Quite a while ago some guy posted a pic of the mystery buttons on his S2k, later found out it was for the Clifford alarm system. Yours might be for the alarms as well.

walkabt has it. The button was added to my car when I got the Honda dealer-installed alarm system. I've never used it though.

Resetting the "service engine" light is done via one of the buttons in the instrument panel.

might be the emergency fuel cut reset switch. I know on some past cars I had, if the vehicle ever found itself at more than a 45-degree angle (or upside down), the fuel system would shut off completely, keeping the car from running at all. Pushing the button reset that. I don't know what the button in the Honda's for, but I'll check my service manual tonight to see what it says.

It's the "valet switch" for the factory alarm.

My car got keyed and I want an aftermarket alarm, one that beeps when people go near it. Not a Viper one though, I think those suck ass.

Any suggestions.
