I helped smccurry install his silencer today. I saw pictures on the web and it was installed almost flush with the tip and a hole drilled at the bottom. Well, that's what we did, but, it rattled like crazy - especially on deceleration. The rattling came from the top of the silencer touching the pipe. Went to the car show tonight and noticed people drilled two holes for the silencer. Is this what's recommended to stop the rattling? Any other solutions?

rstark,

I would rather not drill holes on the muffler tip. If I were you I would just use some duck tape on the silencer to tighten the fit.

rstark,

Oh...I was just saying that I would rather just drill one hole directly on the bottom (6:00). I have seen exhausts with 2 holes on the 4:00 and 7:00 position...but I kind of don't like that look.

I'm pretty sure the duck tape can take the heat. Give it a try though...you have nothing to loose bud.

By the way...just how loud is that exhaust? I have one on order (since end of June), but I didn't order the silencer. Is it loud beneath 3500 RPM?

I had a similar problem. You have to adjust the silencer diameter. Just push it out where needed and bingo, problem solved.

By the way, how did the drilling when? And how long did it take you guys?

I'm confused. This thing is called a silencer but you keep talking about how loud it is?

Please clarify..
