Need advice!
The service advisor called and said they are looking at my transmission. I had brought it in for the vibration on deceleration. He said they are looking at it...they have a Honda rep out there... I asked if he had any idea what the problem might be and he said "Racing!"
My jaw dropped. This really makes it sound like they are going to try and throw the problem on me. I have never raced the car or dropped the clutch. I have driven it in VTEC on the highway, but I have never missed a shift, nor has the car ever behaved improperly on shifting.
I bought this car a month ago, used.
What should I do? I feel like they are going to come to me with some weird problem and say that I was racing the car or something and that and I will not have any ability to dispute the claim because of my lack of knowledge.
Help!

If all else fails, writing letters always helps. Always write a letter to AHM (American Honda Motor). Make sure you "cc:" it to the BBB (better business bureau), and "cc:" to the dealer that gave you the problem.
This will let them know that you aren't going to take it up the ass.

Did you bring a copy of the TSB with you to the dealer? If it's such a rare thing to have happen and you supposedly cause it by racing
, then why did Honda go through the trouble of releasing a TSB?

I did bring a copy of the TSB to the dealer.
The service advisor called me back and apologized about the racing comment. He said they had just finished visual inspection of the drive train and transmission and saw no evidence of abuse or a problem, but still weren't sure what the issue was. They had a Honda rep on site and he approved warranty work and didn't think it was due to abuse.
He also said that they showed the problem to all of their techs because they were all interested. If the problem isn't fixed by Monday they are going to supply me with something to drive in the mean time.
He was very cordial and he felt bad about the racing comment (I told him it had ticked me off, but I was very kind after that).
We then discussed the details of the warranty (I also have an extended warranty).
I feel better now. He also told me he had heard this sound on another S2000 once before, but it slipped my mind to ask what the problem was on that one.
I guess if the problem was as simple as springs on the clutch housing, they would have already done the work...this sounds like they think there is a more significant problem.
I told him I had never had any problem with the clutch or the shifting and I asked if he had any problem when he test drove it and he said no...
