@Jub Thanks a lot for your elaboration.
@dwb993 I read the 1st thread couple times already, Even though I didn't read 2nd thread before, I did most of it to all the cars I bought except the 05 MDX that I bought new..
Like I said above, I fix all the cars myself except alignment. I think I will stick to stock car for easy maintenance and source parts.
The biggest issue about looking for a S2000 is long distance. I don't see any one running around let alone one that selling in my area.

Thanks everyone..

Where might that be (sorry if I missed it)? Note location can be added to your profile and show up on screen like mine.

I live in St. Louis since 2003. I saw the S2000 about 3 times during its production periods. For the last 10 years I didn't see one of it. Six years ago, I saw few S2000 listed on Craigslist, none now. When I search S2000 for sell, there was about 3 of them listed as local during the last 3 months which not in the good shape.

I've noticed a dramatic decline in the number of S2000 listings on craigslist here in the Pacific Northwest as well. At some point over the past couple of years craigslist started charging for auto listings and that had an impact on the number of car listings in general. But even since then, S2000 listings have taken quite a drop out here. I have no idea how this might compare with other cars. Five years ago when I was shopping for one of these cars, in the summertime it wasn't uncommon to find something like 50 cars to choose from, maybe more (this included Seattle, Portland and numerous other smaller markets). A quick glance today shows about a dozen cars in all.

Try AutoTrader by Zipcode and mile radius.

Plenty of cars out there.

Seems like most people that own s2000s now probably went out of their way to buy a s2000 in the first place. Prices are rising because I wouldn't give up my 100k mile car for 20k. 25k and we might be talking. So the cycle continues.... Everything is for sale for the right price.

In this instance, I get the feeling this person is regretting their own decisions and made this example no longer pleasurable to own. If they hadn't spent that much modifying it, maybe they'd keep it.

I think that the modified car is interesting but agree with everyone that it seems odd that he has spent so much on it only to be selling it for so little. Buying it could get you a very unique and fun car...or a complete disaster. You can't go wrong with a well-cared-for stock S2000. I'd stick with the stock car.
