Need advice on buying an s2000
I've looked at two s2000's so far. Both I really like. The problem is one has 45000 miles and the other one has 6700 miles on it. Obviously I want the one with less miles but it's a huge price difference. Is a 45000 miles a lot? I know it's not for a honda.
I'm also looking for an used S2000 as well.
If you are planning to keep the car for really long time..like me.I say go for the lowest mileage one..
and I guess if you have the money than go for the lower mileage one..
45000 is not too much but not too low either..
what's more important is how many owners it had and how they drove..
for me, I would buy a car that's driven by a older person than a teenager and especially someone that has driven other manual cars before.
so basically my advice is, if you have the money and plan on keeping the car for a long time then go for the lowest mileage and newest one. and preferably one that has had only one owner.
I hope it helps.

The one with 9000 miles is an 04 fo 21999 The one with 45000 miles is an 02 for 18900 I guess i can lay out the extra money I jjust don't know if I want an ap1 or ap2. I like the idea of being able to redline at 8900.
You just threw another major variable into the equation, AP1 vs. AP2. Drive both and see what you prefer. The maintenance of each car is going to be what's more important. A lot less can have gone wrong in 9000 miles however... something to think about.
I was having this debate for a while, and I went with an '04 with 9600 miles vs. an '02 with more miles because I don't plan on ever selling it.

I don't every plan on selling it, but things happen. My biggest problem is I have a jeep wrangler that i owe more on then I can get for it. My brother wants to buy it so that might work.

Newer is always better in that sense. The car has fewer "problems" and wear-and-tear parts are still new. So you are further away from major service and parts change.
Also, it's an AP1 vs AP2 thing. AP2 has a few enhancements that would suit most drivers out there. Most people will like the AP2 more, because of cosmetic changes and how the car's a bit more tamed.
When you have a moment, run a search on AP1 vs AP2 (or AP1 versus AP, Is AP1 or AP2 better, etc). The topic has been discussed quite extensively, and that may help you make your decision.
good luck
