Default need advice on delivery of new s2k

Just orderd a new 03 sebring silver on red. Dealer has to do a dealers trade for the car. The car is coming from virginia to philly. I have two options, let the drivers from the dealership drive it up or pay $300 for a flatbed. what should I do?

That 300 bills will be well worth it. Get the flatbed. If you don't want major engine troubles, YOU will want to be easy with the car for the first thousand miles or so. SOMEONE ELSE will not care.

Yep, I'd go get it myself if I were you to verify that's it's really new and also that the boys bringing it up don't VTEC the whole way. Otherwise, I'd say it's the dealer's financial responsiblity to get it there *with no added mileage* if he wants the sale.

IMHO
Option #1 - fly or take a bus down and drive it home yourself
Option #2 - pay the money and do the flatbed

If it's going to cost $300 to flatbed it, I would use that $300 for some sort of transportation to get to Virginia; bus, plane; taxi. Perhaps you could pay a friend some cash to drive you. But definitely do not let someone else drive that car before you.

Plus, when you drive it home yourself, you can break it in very nicely the proper way.

I'd drive it home myself.

The whole thing sounds like BS to me. I think the dealer should flatbed it up and pay for it as part of the cost for doing buisness. I have never heard of a dealer charging for this. The dealer is already making several thousand dollars out of the deal.

Yeah, the first dealer tried this one on me too. First they told me it would cost me $600 to flatbed it, then when I asked to go and drive it back they told me "their insurance wouldn't cover me as the driver".

So then I asked to go with whoever picked it up so I could ride shotgun. Then they came up with another excuse, "we usually send two people when we pick up cars from other dealers".

Shortly thereafter, I went and got my baby from another dealer who took it fresh off the truck with under 8 miles on her...

Honda dealers... well, let me stop before I go off on a tear LOL
