Did the water kill the engine or how do you know that the intake sucked in water? You didn't try and start the motor after it stalled out, did you? You can pull the plugs and crank the motor. This will purge any water that got in the motor.

Good luck.

If water got in and killed the motor and you tried to restart it, it is highly likely that you hydrolocked the motor. I'm assuming you probably would have heard some bad noises if you hydrolocked, though, so you MIGHT be okay. You could still try pulling the plugs and cranking the motor...might still be able to purge water and maybe...just maybe...nothing else is damaged...

Let us know what the insurance company and Honda say...

the you drive into a puddle or just in the rain?

I've driving cars with AEM cold air in some pretty bad rain and haven't had problems...

just curious.

for future protection of your future motors, if your car shuts off due to water injestion, don't attempt to restart. tow it home first.

-pull off the intake arm and clear the intake and filter and allow it to dry.
-remove the spark plugs
-manually crank the motor in attempt to push all the water out of the cylinders.
-put everything back together
-cross your fingers and start her up

also, if your car was in a flooded area, even with a AEM Bypass Valve, there is still a risk of injesting water. you're best chance would have been to push the car to a place where the filter is not submerged.

i would put back on the stock intake. flood the OEM intake with water and then let it sit. try to duplicate what you believe the conditions of the stock intake would be had you started it up with the stock intake (probably wouldn't have sucked water though).

hope everything works out.
