Default Need better LUMBAR SUPPORT? Check this out!-

If you are having any kind of back discomfort driving the S2000, you might want to do what I did. I discovered that the seat back center portion is attatched top and bottom only. I have had the inflatable bladder pictured below for years to use while flying sailplanes for hours at a time. It is a bit large so I fold it as shown in the first photo. The next photo shows it slid half-way into position, and the final shot shows the installed bladder. All you see is the handy pump bulb and tube, which tucks neatly by the seat. You can inflate/deflate to change support during long drives. This thing CHANGES THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE of driving the car. With better lumbar support you can put a little weight on the foot rest and transfer a lot of weight from the seat bottom to the backrest. Sorry I cannot say where to find but I'm sure these things are still around. I've even heard of people selling their cars because of back discomfort. Try this first!

I've found the support just fine, but I guess I'm still young...

No two people have identical spinal profiles. I happen to be kind of broad-shouldered, so my lower back does not even touch the stock seat back. Thus the need for more support in my case. I do think that almost anyone would find the ability to change the support slightly during all-day drives helpful.

S2K2GO!!!,

Awsome idea!
The lumbar support on the s2000 is decent for me, but this would really help out alot.

Thanks for the post.

I took a piece of cloth from one of my old rags tore it and folded it once placed it behind the seat slid it up and down till I was happy. Now I don't even notice its there just feels right. I took it out a while ago and started to get some discomfort so I put it back! Very little bulge was needed to make me happy.

Sweet idea though.

Design of Miata seat is much the same. I have an inflatable bladder in my Miata that I'm sure would work in the S2000 as well. Can't remember where I got it but do a search for Miata accessories and you can probably find it.
