Thumbs up Need to hear from '08 owners out there!

So I'm at the Honda dealer today to get my convertible top replaced
in my '05 because of the defect in the framework.

While I'm waiting for the rental car, a salesman comes up to me and
says "would you like to trade up to an '08?". He said he "needed"
a car like mine (whatever that means, especially when he already
has an '08).

So I'm looking to hear from '08 owners, are you happy with your
S? Any defects that you've come across similar to the convertible
top defect in my '05? How happy are you with the car? Other than
the fact that the S is a fabulous car (not looking for those opinions
I know that already ) I'm looking to hear about things that might
have gone wrong, problems with fit/finish, etc. etc.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

-Mark

I'm no 08 owner but if I were you, if the sales man gives you a good deal, then why not? You get a brand new car

He probably "needs" it because there are no FI issues on those cars dealing with the new options (DBW, VSA, etc.)

If you are the type of person that wouldn't be affected by those things, I say go for it. The 08 should be much nicer.

First of all, i would just like to add that 08 will have DBW but a reprogramable ECU.

Anyways, Greddy's turbo kit and Vortech's supercharger will be out in the next few months for 06+.
CT Engineering (formerly Comptech) and Kraftwerks both already have working superchargers for the 06+.

I will probably do a turbo or sc at some point and I really
appreciate that information! But by the time I'm ready to do
it, I'm sure greddy, comptech, etc. will have their products
available for the 06+.

Right now I'm trying to decide whether or not to get the '08
based on it being stock...thanks

Why pay for newer version of the car you already have unless your current car is giving you problems? It is a honda so I would think it would be good for more than 3 years. You will have a just as new a top on the 05 as the 08 anyway.

Now if you needed a Ridgeline and the salesman came up saying he needed a car like yours....

Oh the car is great but there's nothing better than driving out
of the lot and the smell of new wheels.

Plus, there's always the hope that I might own the last production
year model of the car. lol

I wouldn't do it. It doesn't sound like a sound financial decision, especially if your '05 is doing fine. Who cares about the new car smell, it doesn't last. Depreciation on a new car is nasty. It's on you though, and where you feel your finances are.
