Default Need Help ( AEM V2 or Comptech Intake)

Hi guys,

I just got my s2 like 2 mos. ago and my gf is giving me an intake for my b-day next week, and I haven't done that much research on Intakes. All I know is that AEM v2 gives couple of hp and sounds mean, but i also heard about hydrolocking ( not healthy). I havent seen a pic of the Comptech but if you guys could please help, I need to tell her wich one so I could be happy

P.S. Pictures of both intakes installed would be appreciated.

Thanks,

If you don't really care about looks over function, then the V2 is the obvious choice. You will get more HP out of the V2 than the Comptech...but the Comptech is definately more visually appealing. I personally love my V2 intake, but I could give a shit less about carbon fiber bling like the Comptech or Mugen or Spoon intakes. I would rather spend half the cost on the AEM and get more HP and torque than pay for something that looks nice, but isn't as functional. As far as hydrolock, that happens in extreme cases...you have to fully submerge the filter in water in order to hydrolock it. All you really need to do is plug the drain hole in the engine compartment in order to avoid problems when it rains....the V2 points up at an angle and if the drain hole isn't plugged, rain will go into the filter and pool in the piping.

Thanks for the pic twisted, to tell you the truth, I love both of them but i gotta make a decision quick..... I make a little more research on the V2 and it's hydrolockin problem and seems to me you have to scuba dive with ur S to have that problem.... Since i Keep it in a garage I dont think rain is an issue...............thanks for all your help guys. And the members in this website are very friendly. I'll keep you guys posted.

P.S. does anyboy have a sound WAV. file of the comptech ?

Thanks again

Have you considered a K@N FIPK? Cheaper than Comptech and better filter media.
