One of our UK members (UKJason) has recently had his alignment done to these new recommended settings:

Just returned from having the adjustments done, I was originally meant to have them done at Savoy Wigan but they called to say their machine was broke so I went to Savoy Warrington who said that Wigan probably didnt have any trained staff to do the job so that was a lucky break. Savoy Warrington seem very well clued up with the car and particuarly with these settings, the guy admitted that they knew of a few people who have suffered severe alignment problems, one guy went through 3 sets of tyres in 8000 miles, I think theyll be getting my custom in future.

Anyway Honda UK issued a bulletin on the subject on the 2nd Jan, Bulletin number A0002294, I have a copy that I could fax to anyone who would like to see it but basically it goes as follows:-

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After throrough evaluation and dynamic testing, Honda UK can confirm steering and suspension geometry settings for the Honda S2000. Below you will find standard geometry settings as shown in the Workshop Manual as well as the Honda UK recommended settings. The Honda UK recommended settings are within the Workshop Manual tolerances. However, dynamic testing has shown the the use of these settings will allow the steering and suspension to operate at its optimum level
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have listed the Honda (UK) and Workshop preffered settings below, Honda (UK) in bold

Front
-------
Caster Left: 6,45 6,45
Caster Right: 6,45 6,45
Camber Left: -1,00 0,00
Camber Right: -1,00 0,00
Total Toe: 0,00 0,20
Toe Left: 0,00 0,10
Toe Right: 0,00 0,10

Rear
-------
Camber Left: -2,00 -1,00
Camber Right: -2,00 -1,00
Total Toe: 0,40 1,20
Toe Left: 0,20 0,40
Toe Right: 0,20 0,40

As you can see not major differences but a change from the workshop manual, Im wondering whether these new settings are as per the 2002 model.

In transpired that my car was setup almost perfectly anyway which makes me wonder if they did this as part of the PDI in Belgium.

I just PM'd a guy the other night about the CORRECT way to do alignment on this car (i.e. Hunter 4 wheel unit). I really have no desire to do it again. Could whoever I PM'd post my answer to your PM here, as it was quite lengthly. It answers all the questions and then some....for instance Step #1....tire pressurte.

Utah

P.S. Thanks in advance
