Now unfortunately I could not figure out why the paint on the valve cover is coming off in some areas (like the right top and left side). I also noticed a little build up of dried oil between the valve cover and engine block, right where the head gasket is located. It could also be due to the fact that the engine bay has not been cleaned for a long time maybe? Also, when I turned the car on, I felt the engine shake which made me feel something under the seat.

I hope you guys can help me out.
That's not a great price. And with the possible issues, just move on. Plenty of AP2's available in my opinion.

P.S. In case you don't know, if you wait until Oct/Nov/Dec, you'll get a killer deal. Summer's almost over anyways and we're slipping into another recession, so there will be deals.

Seems pretty odd that there is paint coming off of the valve cover~ I don't think it should ever do that...

Even in a Canadian market, it doesn't seem worth it for the possible potential issues that car might have. He might have had to replace the head gasket but at 64k miles, I don't think it would've even needed a change.

As for the shake, it is pretty common from my experience with higher mileage s2000's. I've had 3 and the only one that did that was the one w/ 80k miles on it.

Just FYI: The headgasket is not between the valve cover and engine block. It is between the cylinder head and the engine block. The valve cover gasket is between the red valve cover and the engine head and is common for oil to leak on valve cover gaskets over 5-6 years old. I replace mine if I see any sign of oil seep.

Also in my experience with many Hondas, the paint does tend to peel on the valve cover after it's been subjected to oil leaking.
