Need help with car value
14k miles for $34k sounds like a bargain based on what we've been seeing. To the OP, Bring-A-Trailer may be a good platform. If I were selling otherwise, I'd probably list at like $45k and see what happens. You have a rare and desirable car. Definitely worth paying for a good detail and hopefully you have records and maybe original paperwork.
I'm thinking most people would like to get the consensus opinion, rather than list it and have ACTUAL BUYERS determine what it is worth. If you think you're sitting on a gold mine, then list it high and see what happens. You can negotiate down, but you can't negotiate up. Mid to high 30's I'm thinking. Good Luck!
the 2005 is a high water mark in s2000's for the general public- the real enthusiast goes for the CR or mid '02/03. if you want the biggest bang from the sale...BaT is a great site for auctioning a car, but be prepared to be put under the microscope.
1. change ALL fluids and update ALL maintenance- don't forget that coolant needs to be done at year 10 and every 5th year thereafter.
2. new tires that are less than 4 years old
3. full detail- I mean, detail the shit out of it- paint correction if needed and get the underside detailed as well.
4. do your spec valve adjustment, do your compression test and post results. Photograph ALL 10 VIN.
The properly presented vehicle will bring the boys to the party. I'd think this would be a $36-40K.
Good luck!
