need help with clutch fluid

Default need help with clutch fluid

my clutch is starting to lose lots of pressure. so i checked and my clutch fluid level is way to low and it turned black. i should have taken care of my car better but anyway. dealer is telling me about 100bux to get it flushed

what do you guys think?

if you have the means try doing it yourself.... i dont think it would be too hard to do. But it sounds about right 100 dollars, dealerships charge alot per hour, the acura dealer down here charges 100 an hour just for labor. If you can find a regular garage they might do it for around 45 50 maybe.

I just did it myself tonight for the first time.

Took me all of about 20 minutes. It's REALLY easy.

$5 for a bottle of DOT3 and a friend to help work the clutch, done deal.

hey, really? the dealer guy said there's no drain out for it so they have to flush it out. otherwise i would do it myself.. so i guess it is doable to on your own..

well it depends what you mean by drain and flush. first you should use a turkey baster or something to change the fluid in the reservoir then proceed to use the bleed valve on the slave cylinder to bleed the rest of the system. there are a couple do it yourself threads on this forum.

You can definately do it yourself. Here is a good write up. I did it with my wife in about 30 minutes(whole job).
