I'm raising my seat about .75 - .50 inches so my amp will fit.

I was able to find the proper bolts for both the rear (10mm) and front(8mm) with a thread pitch of .1mm.

However I'm not sure what to do about the washer...should I buy a bunch of washers to raise it or someone told me to use a large bolt (which may require 2 bolts to get it the length that I want).

ANY help with this I would greatly appreciate.

I need to do it right and safe.

Don't want the seats to come off when I'm doing 1.0G's ;-)

Mark_12345,

Ahhman...I don't know about that one.

Why don't you put the amp where the spare tire is?

Have you considered the consequences of air bag deployment and the roll bars?

Not that I have. Just a thought...

aka Unicron,

I prefer under the seat. What could possibly go wrong? ;-)

I think putting the amp in the spare might be more work...correct me if I'm wrong.

How do you keep the amp from moving in the spare?

you might want to think about heat buildup too. you don't want to make the fit too tight.

justification,

What does the airbag and rollbar have to do with raising the seat .5 - .75 inches?

Please explain.

I think if you REALLY want to do this, you should go get a piece of metal plate of the right thickness cut and drill a hole. I wouldn't do this stacking washer business... just sounds rather scary to me...

I wouldn't recommend using a bunch of washers (which can sheer or distort). You should try to find the right size spacers and larger/longer bolts - preferably made of hardened steel. Try one of the bigger Pep Boys stores; they seem to stock a good selection of assorted bolts. If you have any problems finding what you need, try an online search in Yahoo for nuts & bolts.

Mark, please post your results after you're done. There's lots of things that would fit under the seats if we only had a bit more space.

I think the poster is suggesting you do away with the spare like some other owners have.
