Need Help/Info Please!
Today my check engine light came on. I took the vehicle to the Honda Service Center, the scanner indicated a misfire on cylinder #1, #2 and #4. My vehicle is MY02 with 4,900 miles and the spark plug recall was completed on 10/02. Any ideas on this problem? I also posted Under the Hood Forum, but wanted to reach a broader audience.
PS I hope XViper has not closed shop for the weekend.
Thx
Rick

Schatten,
The dealer cleared the codes and I drove the vehicle home with no problems. The check engine light just came on with no performance issues. Fortunately the Service Center is on my way home from work. Approx 1 mile from my home.

So, no performace issues. Dealer cleared the codes and did not find anything. You have driven the car since and still no CEL?
Any mods? Drove through an AZ downpoor, engine wash?
Forget about it. Unless it happens again.

If the dealer did not check the plugs, he must not be worried about it. I'm thinking that if he thought it was a big deal, he would have looked around a little bit more.
I would not poke around too much. If anything happens when you check the plugs, he could say it was your fault, unless you feel comfortable doing it, and willing to be responcible for any probs you cause.
If you get the cel again, (reoccurring problem) push the dealer to find the cause.

Ok, I just checked the plugs at spec 18-20ftlbs. So the plugs are not the issue. I filled up last weekend at Chevron super unleaded 91-91 oct.
I don't know what else would cause a misfire on 3 cylinders only.
Thx
