Default need help- Might have to sell my 07

To make a very long story short, I purchased a Yellow 2007 S2000 in November and it has been a garage queen with less than 1000 miles on it to date as I have a company car that is my DD. The s2000 has never even see the rain and is in perfect condition. Two weeks ago I had emergency cervical spinal surgery (2 herniated discs pushing on my spinal cord causing paralysis in my upper body from a watersports accident) and had two verdabrae fused which has given me a ton of limitations for the rest of my life, (range of motion, no heavy lifting, and especially getting in and out of sports cars!). My Neurosurgeon was pretty straight forward with me as he owns a 2007 ZO6 Vette and said that I will not be able to enjoy my S2000 as a normal person would due to the fusion. To further make my issue worse, I have 12 weeks of wearing a hard neck brace and no lifting anything heavier than a coffee cup. Then from their it will be rehab and pt until the bones in my neck fuse which takes a year or so. So driving the S2000 is out until then regardless. I attempted to call is comments about getting in and out of the S2000 a bluff, but he knows his stuff and could get in but needed the help of my brother to get me out of the car. I guess I didn't make the story as short as I could but my question is What would be a fair price to sell my practically new S2000????

In november I traded in a 2007 Jeep wrangler and a 2006 Honda Aquatrax plus 3500 in cash for the S2000, which equates to apprx 31,000 out the door. I would like to re coupe as much I can not only not to take a hit on the deal but to help cover the medical bills as my insurance has a pretty high co insurace and deductible which sucks!

any advise would be much appreciated and thanks in advance!!!

About 25,000 or so I'd say. Maybe a bit more, depends upon where you live. New 07s are going for low 26s before Tax, Title, and Bridle.

That's about right. $26,500 last month for brand new leftover 07's in I think Ohio. Sad for you. Keep it as it will give you a goal to heal to.

That would be my guess as well on how much you should sell. Maybe the highest $27k if you want to take a chance.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope everything goes well with the healing and rehab. Just keep your spirits up and good luck.

Thanks for the information, and the kind words about my neck and situation. KBB and NADA are inbetween 29 and 27K so I will probably ask for 28.5K to start as I am in Florida where it's always convertible season and right now and until I sell it it will just sit in my garage. I do have a very small amount financed and owe less than 3k so I can definitely wait to get what I need ( as the condition won't change and I have a long rehab process ahead of me)! That's not to say I won't move on the price though, will always make considerations.

What normally works best for selling ebay, autotrader, forums???

thanks again for all of the advice!

if you can wait you can get a bigger price than any fast sell price. i'd do just what you're suggesting. my friend always takes 3-6 months to sell cars and always gets a few grand extra for his patience. long as you can sell it before summer is over, you'll get a lot more than the average.

ive had great luck with autotrader. $50 runs it till it sells, and you can change the price if you dont get any calls for a while. but ebay seems more suited towards a quicker sale at a bargain price.

ebay is probably gonna be pretty expensive. sometimes they give deals on listing prices once in a blue moon but can't say when. if autotrader is 50$ till it sells and no commission fee i'd take that and post around all the forums i could find.

i would also assume selling a car would take a lot of patience, especially something that costs so much. i dono how many people that will just write a check for 27k and hand it to you...i sold a car before but it was a cheap 1800$ car at a bargain price but still a headache to deal w/ all the phone calls. either way good luck to you selling the car.
