Need help in Nashville
Today a bad person ran into my car. She crossed the center line headed at me and there was little room to dodge. I did duck right and prevent a head-on. She hit the left rear wheel hard enough that the car doesn't track straight and is obviously visibly tweaked. She continued on and hit a Mustang and then did take on a tow truck head on. They carried her away on a stretcher.
Where should I take my car to get repaired?
The car is sort of driveable, but I think it will be hard on the (brand new) rear tires. Crest is the closest dealer to me, but my only main concern is to get it repaired properly the first time. There is little sheet metal damage, but I presume there is control arm and possible hub/axle damage.
If anyone has good or bad experience with local body shops and dealers, I would really appreciate your sharing.
Thanks,
Chris

I live in Nashville and have had very good experience with Crest. Talk to serv. mgr. Trace Starr. I can't vouch for the mechanical part but they have done body/paint work on my car twice. Mine is Spa Yellow which means it's a TRIPLE stage paint and the paint work on my car is impecable. You just can't tell it. They use the Crest Cadillac body shop next door. Not cheap and insurance company may balk but I'd sure insist on it based on my experience. PM me if you need any more info.
Chris,
Glad you are all right - that is the main thing!
I am in Nashville too (live in Hermitage, work in Madison). Where did the accident happen?
You can try Hoffman's on Old Hickory Blvd in Madison (ask for Ken) or Infinite Colors on Blanton Ave. Someone told me Bradshaw's was good as well, but for sure the first two places.
I would REALLY like to see your blue/blue car - I have been looking for one (even posted here to see if someone lived in Nashville) just too look at - I want to see if I like the all blue interior .
Supposed to be sunny and 70 Friday, want to meet for lunch or something? Trade you a ride in the 'vette convertible for a look at your blue/blue car
Or if you are out Madison way, holler and maybe we can meet up.
Good luck getting the car back "like new".

Thanks everyone, for your replies. I still don't know what I'm going to do. Should get a police report today. I'm thinking I will go to Crest, but I know Hofffman's is excellent also. If it was just body work I would go to Hoffman's , but this is more suspension work. I used to work with Dick Hoffman, Ronnie's dad. Dick was a famous drag racer from the 60's. Dick told me that Ronnie "did pretty good work." That meant a lot coming from him.
Dennis, the wreck happened on Murfreesboro road near nashboro village. If you want to see the car, I can pm you my phone number. It won't be going anywhere for a while. I'm in west nashville. I can't meet up cause my car isn't fit to drive.
thanks again

Thanks to Chris' hospitality - I can now say I "Love ya Blue" (remeber the old Houston Oiler's fight song?).
He was nice enough to take time to show me his "baby" and stand around talking cars today. I REALLY like the blue exterior. I am still thinking on the blue interior - I know if I could get a blue/black car I would for sure!
I stopped on the way home from Chris' house at a local dealer with an 02 silver in stock. Like the black interior better, but after seeing the blue exterior the silver looked "plain".
I got to drive a 2000 S2000 (red, if it matters) today and the salesman did not pester me to slow down (he was a young fellow, and didn't know better).
I think I would be "happy" with any color, but I like the yellow and red cars (overall) and love that blue exterior!
The "crack head" that hit Chris' car scraped up the wheel and the quarter panel - but I guess the real bad news is that she bent something in the suspension. Hopefully she has good insurance and Chris can get his car back on the road real soon.
Thanks again, Chris!

My son goes to Vandy & any time I drive down there I close my eyes & hope (esp on Rt 40). I've never driven my S there yet - don't know if I ever want to.
I love the city & I thought (before I had any experience) the driving would be MORE relaxed than up here in the over-crowded mid-atlantic/northeast. Man, was I wrong.
Anyway, sorry about your accident - hope you can make it right.

I got my S repaired at Crest. Don't go there. They don't know what the hell they are doing. They stole my Amp out of my car, then it took them 6 weeks to repair the car, they kept needing additional parts. They go through management changes every month. The paint job sucks. I am about to have them redo the whole thing. Do not take it to Crest. If I were you, I would take it to one of those paint shops that take like 2 months to paint the car and charge thousands of dollars. The paint job at Crest sucked. Also, they did not line the panels up properly. My lights are not adjusted correctly, another problem I will have to get fixed.
The people posting for or against Crest should comment on when they had work done there.
The Crest folks bought out Capitol Honda and moved it out to Metro Center. The giant "Sonic" group has purchased Crest Honda. I don't know if that makes things better or worse. It could be that they USED to be good and are now bad - or USED to be bad and are now good. Hard to say without knowing when your cars when in for work.
I know one thing, the Sonic way of selling cars will mean I will pretty much never buy from them. They try to make a ton of bucks in the finance department. You think you have an OK deal, then they start putting fees and stuff in there - and they NEVER will give you the "buy rate" on a lease or payment - they always jack it up to make extra.
