I'm going to try and save $100 and also at the same time gain some skills.

-What must I be careful of when I do this?

-Do I really need to buy a tool called a "center punch?"

-Any other words of advice?

Instructions in .pdf format

i installed my oem spoiler without a problem. The guide holes are a big plus on the trunk lid. the center punch will keep the drill from slipping off your start point. just don't hit it very hard and start slowly with your drilling. be sure to paint the holes. a reamer will help with any metal burrs and enlarging the holes gradually if necessary. good luck!

Is the center punch something I can buy at a hardware store? Is it basically this pointy thing you use with a hammer to make an indent? Why paint the holes when you can't even see them?

Also, am I drilling from inside the trunk lid --> out or from out --> in?

Thanks.

guide holes are inside trunk lid so have to drill from there. punch is 'pointy thing' that makes a small indent to start from when drilling.

This is a very simple install. Save the money and do it yourself. A center punch is not strictly needed but is definetly a plus. Any pointed object such as a blunt nail would work, just tap lightly. All you need to do is make an indentation for your drill bit to start in. This prevents the bit from walking all over your trunk and bringing tears to your eyes......not that I experienced this personally or anything!!!
The install is very straight forward so save your cash and get friendly with your drill. Good luck!!

Center punch is a little penshape thing with a spring (Not visible) in the middle, so when you press it hard again a surface, the spring will be released and the tip will be stamped on the surface. You don't need a hammer. It is very important to use it before you drill a hole (I learned it the hard way). It only costs a few bucks at any hardware store

I have my Feel's spoiler installed myself... well, I should say, installed by me and one of my friend who also owns a S2K.. However, it is easy to do so.. just remember, to use touch up paint for the hole you drill.... cuz you don't want it to get rusty..!!

I just completed the oem install...I used standard punch with out spring load. I think the best advise I could give is to do as the instructions advise.....start with a small bit and work up to the 8mm. Be sure to get a good rat-tail (round) file to debur and watch those metal shavings....I used a can of air to clear them off the painted surface

Have fun!
