Default Need a little help.

My engine is shaking like it's slightly off-balance. To be honest with you I redlined in 3rd and went to put it in to 4th and i put it in 2nd. Although i hit the clutch as soon as I did it. I'm just wondering if the severe vibration made a plug loose. Not sure, the guy at the honda dealership told me that they weren't going to work on it under warranty because i had I/E on there. I guess I'm going to have them do a diagnostic and then fix it myself.

Any ideas are appreciated and soon because i leave on a cross country rally thursday.

Thanks everyone,
Tom

hey tom,
yeah i would suggest going to either honda or a shop, just so they can see if maybe the motor got "shaken" loose from its mounting points, its prolly just a very small amount...
otherwise i dont know what to do....
good luck

yeah. I took it to the honda dealership yesterday by my work to make it convenient and they just got it in there today and told me that they wouldn't do warranty work. So I called a close family friend over at another about 15 miles away and he told me that I/E shouldn't be a problem. So, i'm taking it there on lunch and hopefully they should be able to do something.

Hey Tap... If they can't fix it, try my friend at Wheel Image

If you missed that shift, then more than likely you overreved the engine beyond it's 9k redline. Here's an interesting thread you may want to check out or do a search on overreving.

Hope you didnt do any damage but would be willing to beat you got internal damage like bent valve or something to that effect.

Good luck.

Well. Good news. I took it over to the other Honda dealership. And it was diagnosed with codes 0301,0302,0303,0304. So it is just misfiring and causing the engine to be off balance a little. We'll see how it goes. He'll call me later today.

thanks. but alas. Just got a call from my friend. Slight bend in one of the valves in the 2nd cylinder. He said that they have fixed one with a slight bend in it before by riding at about 6000 rpms for about 15 minutes. If that's the case then this thing might fix it's self by the end of the rally!
