Need a new battery
Every thread from search was several years old, so I thought I'd get some up to date recommendations.
My battery is almost dead. It's still holding charge just fine, but it's health is almost zero. It's been in service since December 1999, so I can't complain.
I have no aftermarket stereo, so I don't need something extra powerful, but I do need enough juice to crank the car in cold weather, under 20*F. Not concerned with saving any weight, but I'm not against it. Should I just go stock, or is there something better that is not too expensive?

I bought a NAPA battery last summer. It was reasonably priced and cranks well. I don't know how it would do in the cold though. It's kept in the garage and it doesn't get driven below 40F because of the summer tires. Sorry I can't help you with that.
I just installed an Everstart 51-4/435CCA battery last week from Wal-Mart. If you do a bit of research you'll find that auto batteries are all made by 3 manufacturers regardless of what labels are put on them. Wal-Mart has a great replacement policy and their stores are about everywhere which adds up to security and convenience.

I recently replaced mine with an Odyssey 680.. which is actually a motorcycle battery that has similar to stock cranking power but low reserve do to its size (about half the size and weight of oem). Got mine @ Batteries plus and am very happy with it, paid about $120 for the non-metal jacket version. The 680 is a bit too weak for your climate but I have heard that the next size up will work for you cold\aftermarket audio guys.
