Need new battery, unsure of optima
Hi all,
Its getting to be the time for me to get a replacement battery. I'd like to get one that's lighter than stock but with a good degree of reliability. And I have a system, running a 600W Phoenix Gold
I was considering the Optima yellow top, but it seems that their reliability isn't as great as I'd like. But if I understand correctly, Optima can be deep discharged, meaning I can run my stereo with my engine off (like washing the car) which I can't do now. I'd find that ability alone very attractive. Anyone have any insight??? Thanks as always

i have an optima yellow top with a sound system. Treating me well so far. I don't run the stereo very long while the engine is off though so I can't tell you how long is too long. i say get it

Get it, I use to run a dual set-up in my Honda Accord with 2 optima batteries. Ran through a couple of SPL competition and I use to listen to my stereo with the car off all the time with not a single problem.
