Default Need S2000 expert to check some pics

Hello all,

I've been a Honda Owner for over 15 years, between my wife and I we've owned a 3 Civics, 2 RSXs, and currently own a Element and Ridgeline. We're looking at parking a S2000 in the garage next. I've found a used S2000 at a dealership about 2 hours away from me, that seems to be a pretty good price, but I've notice a few things in pictures that seem to suggest the car may have been tampered with. I have no problems with different items on a the car being upgraded, but I get worried when I'm not the picking the upgrades, and doing or overseeing the installs of said upgrades.

Any way to get to the point of my post, I'm looking for those of you familiar with the S2000 to look at the few pics the dealership has up on their site and see what you can find that differs from the factory.

The two things I've notice are:

1) The Pillar has a gauge in it, according to the dealer it's an oil pressure gauge.
2) Looks like there is only one exhaust pipe coming out the rear vs two.

Here's the car:

Anything you notice in the pictures or any thoughts on the car in general are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

I bet you it has been boosted there are 2 gauges, Why would you need oil pressure inless you ran boost? The only suggestion I have to check to see if it was boosted is see if you can get under the car and see if the oil pan has been tapped for turbo?
Others should chime in, there should be more ways to tell if it was boosted.
The exhaust just looks like a single exit, which is normal for s2k's.
Single exhausts are usually very loud, in return they are much lighter and provide more HP.

One reason why I'm just not interested in trading in my MY00 for a new car.

Anyway, ask the dealer if they can send you a photo of the engine bay.

Also, it's missing the "S2000" logo on the front fenders. Some people remove them because they like the look, sometimes they don't get put back on after a collision repair.

I don't see anything else out of the ordinary except what appears to be excessive use of high-gloss Armorall in the interior.

Yeah I saw all that shinyness and thought someone must have gone hog wild with the armor all.
Anyways, it also looks like there is some left over tape or something on top of the steering column cover, maybe where a Turbo Timer was mounted.

I think you'd do better to wait until you can find an unguilded S2000. Better to be safe than sorry.

Unless the gauges are rice, the car has been boosted. Won't know for sure until you get an engine bay shot. There will be lot's of OEM fasteners and hoses tampered with/missing if it has had extensive modification. Check the headers and CAT since it's a single exhaust.

if your serious about the car...its best to spend 200 bucks on a leakdown and compression and also get a 52 pt. inspection at honda. talk to the mechanic while hes got the car on the hoist and see what he says about the car and his feeling toward the car. Also make sure its a competent mechanic...but those are easy to come by at a dealership. You can also get them to check the vin# to see if the cars been service by any honda dealerships in the past

^^^ that could really be a possibility, also about the s2000 emblems, it also appears that the fender does not look lined up right, there is a small gap between the door and fender. and i also i do notice that there might be something that looked like it was taped behind the steering wheel.
