Thumbs up NEED TO SHIP MY S2K 3000 MILES

In oct, my husband and i are moving from so cal to so florida and we need to ship both my s2k and his lexus. We have our reasons, but mainly the answer is NO I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS THING ACROSS COUNTRY. We have 5 birds and are flying so they arent stressed for as long as a week long road trip would take. plus my husband works for himself and cant be out of work that long....

ok so i need a car shipping company who can take both of our cars, and wont damage them at all. i would PREFER that my car be able to be shipped in a covered trailer, but depending on pricing id be willing to blue tape up my car and let it go uncovered. my concern is someone ripping off my hardtop if its parked on some trailer overnight.

So far ive determined its going to be between 1200-1500 each car to ship that far. If i can find something cheaper that would be nice but id rather a GOOD company that wont damage our cars. Horseless carriage quoted us 1800 each and thats way out of target so ive excluded them.

Please post/PM ur recommendations and experiences. Ive never shipped a car before so if there are things i should make sure of, let me know. all advice is welcome!

i'm sure they are going to be expensive but if you look in dupont registery magazine they have car haulers, just an option, they haul high end cars so i'm sure they would be careful.

Actually we are moving to SW cape coral area. Thinking we might either stay there or else check out Naples. I am going to transfer to Gulf Coast University so we would like to stay up that way.

Yeah thats where i got horseless carriage from actually. They only ship cars covered so thats a plus but they were outrageous in pricing

i thought i replied in this thread but i guess not

we moved our a3 from socal to upstate ny last fall with das shipping.....got the quote directly from their site and it was accurate (around 800 insured if i recall)

no problems at all with them.....we chose to have it in an open transport...enclosed was quite a bit more

edit....

here is their site

http://www.dasautoshippers.com/

edit again

just did a quote --

shipping is 809 + 194 insurance from san diego to ft lauderdale + 400 for enclosed trailer per car

no damages at all? did you have to drop it off at a terminal or were they door to door?

in that price we had to drop it off at the terminal....they did a full inspection and sent me on my way in less than 10 minutes

no damages or issues whatsoever....it took a long time tho (10 days...they told us up to 14 days) but 10 days is still a very long time

it's quite a bit more for door to door service ($200 more) so i didn't think it was worth it

as well maybe call them and see if they can give you a break since it's 2 cars?
