Need some advice in / near Indianapolis
I just purchased an S2000 and am looking for two pieces of advice (and any others you would like to add!)
1) Good indy mechanic for S2000's in the area or the best dealership to use. I always get my NSX serviced by a master tech, but there were many more S2000's made, so I don't feel the need for that with this car. However, I worked with two Honda dealerships (not in Indy) during the PPI, and neither figured out that the passenger side window was not working because the driver's side master switch was locked.
2) Good Paintless Dent Removal / Touchup person in the area.
Thanks for your help.

Interestingly, just this am I was thinking about NSX vs S dealership mechanics. I was thinking, the NSX is perceived as exotic, while the S is perceived as more of a 'normal' car.
Besides the obvious (in USA) difference of being Acura vs Honda dealerships, an NSX shows up for service, and its going to be treated differently. They won't just assume. Assume the oil filter to use. How to tighten it. The diff fluid to use. What low engine compression numbers would be. They are going to look it up. Double check.
They also aren't going to give an NSX to just any mechanic to work on.
The S just doesn't seem as exotic, so its going to be treated more like any other Honda that is being worked on that day. Sure, it'll get some looks, and some respect. But its not going to get any leeway for mechanic taking extra time to make sure he's doing things right.
And that can be a real problem. I'm sure the number one cause of S2000 death is driver error and spinning of the road. But I wonder how far down that list is dealer mechanic screwing up...

Agreed. But I find ignorance in both.
My NSX was solely cared for by a Texas dealer's Master NSX Tech for the first 20 years of its life. We're talking everything including windshield wiper blades. When I purchased it from the original owner, I drove straight to that dealer and the tach spent over an hour with me going over every record. I don't have anything that approaches that level of NSX expertise in Indianapolis. Though they do try.

Have you posted this question in your local community forum (Upper Mid-West S2000 Owners)? Most likely you will get the information you are looking for - which is a good local S2000 mechanic.
For example, we have a few go-to S2000 specialists here in the Bay Area, such that I never bring mine to the dealer unless absolutely necessary.
