Need Some Advice pLease!!!
hello guys,
i am a new poster to the boards, but not from browsing...
I've been reading these boards since early 2001 and not really posting messages, in fears of gettin flamed...
here's the deal...
i currently have a 2001 Celica GT-S... i want a better car, something more prestigious... here is my bio
Age: 19
Occupation: E-Care Specialist for Academic Press Journals
Salary: $25k+
Shelter: Live in parents house, 2 car garage, 4 bedrooms, and I live alone

Currently Driving: 96 Dodge Intrepid 'daily driver'
2001 Celica GT-S 'show car'
(((my parents did not buy me my cars)))
please do not flame me, don't say "your spoiled brat" etc, cuz my parents did not pay a dime for my cars... yes they do pay for the house i'm staying in, but i guess i'm' lucky...
now that you know this... i'm looking for another car... my choices
Honda S2000
Why?
i'm a honda lover and an s2000 fan... and gotta love the top down
Subaru WRX
Why?
Best 'bang for your buck', AWD turbo is fun, i drove my friends and it's fun
Evolution Lancer VII
Why?
New to the market, be the first around to have one, AWD turbo
Lexus IS? BMW 3-series?
any more suggestions???
i'm still selling the celica... i loved the car for the year i've had it, had lots of fun... love modding it... but i want something better/more power....
what do you guys think??? oh and the price range is flexible, wanna keep it around 30k, 35k is the most...
any help would be appreciated.... thanks

You know what car I'm gonna say! The S2000, of course. Can't beat the power, handling, uniqueness, and of course it's a convertible. I know I am being biased, so I will try to be objectionable to your other choices. Depends a lot on what you are looking for.
Speed and Power:
The Evo VII is going to be a monster. With 300+HP, AWD, and a turbo. Should be somewhere around 30+K, but beware of price gouging like when all new hot sports cars come out.
If you want to save some money go with the WRX. Although they are supposed to come out with a beefier version in '03.
Luxury and grace:
A new 3-series BMW is gonna cost over 40K with options, so unless you can afford a new M3, I say pass. It is a great car, but not that fast, plus they are everywhere.
The Lexus is a less expensive way to go, but again, not much power.
It really comes down to what you want out of the car. Do you want to mod it into a showcar, like your celica?
The S2000 is pretty hard to get any more significant power gains without adding a SC, Turbo, or NOS. But it really doesn't need it, unless you are tired of getting beaten by those damn LS1's!
I suggest you test drive all your choices before you decide. Which car to choose is gonna vary by personal opinion, what it is being used for and $$$.
My $.02

thanks for the imput guys
i definately want to mod the car out... but after i pay it off... the celica, i modded it while i was paying for it... bad choice...
i wish i woulda waited to mod the celica, cuz it would give time for the aftermarket to build... i would have a fully paid off celica buy now
so whatever car i'm get, i will pay it off first, then mod it after i am done the payments...
any more opinions???
try to be as unbias as possible... thanks

If I'd to take your income into consideration, I would suggest the WRX.
There is a BIG difference between financing a ~21-22K car and a ~31K car, especially for someone in your position. Besides, mods for the scooby is much, much cheaper. I hope I don't come across as being critical - it's just my objective opinion. Good luck!
