Default Need Someone to Take Over My Lease

I have recently (February) leased an '02 S2000 in Sebring Silver with Black Interior, it has 8000 miles on it and is in perfect condition. I have gone to the leasetrader site to try and find a buyer, due to my new job requirements I can no longer have the car and need to move it quickly.

The payments are $420.12 a month for 36 months with 12k miles a year and 29 months remaining. American Honda will allow for a partial transfer (my name would remain on it for liability sake) but they do check the new person's credit and evaluate it tougher than with the original buyer, so you must have good credit. The payments are very low for this type of deal and you would have to put around $4000 down to get this type of deal new. I was very fortunate and a good friend of mine worked at the dealership and got me the deal.

As I said before, the car is in perfect condition, I just can't do with the two-seater any longer. It was properly broken in and maintained to the specifications given by Honda. The car has never seen a car wash, all washing and waxing done by hand. This is truly a great deal and I hope someone who will care for this car and baby it like I did will come along and give her a new home.

I am located in New Jersey, but if you are interested and want to fly in, I can pick you up at the airport, or depending on the location I may deliver it. Email me at sean@leatherinstitute.com for more info, thanks.

Please look into this closer. If AHFC is requiring you remain on the lease, you will likely be held liable of the person who assumes the lease should stop paying. IMO, unless it's a relative, this is not acceptable. Imagine having to pay for a car you don't own, or having your credit ruined for something that is not your responsability.

I can go through the leasetrader website and get my name off the lease totally under their full assumption program so I am totally out, just need to find a taker at this point. I have taken this into consideration and the car will be the new leaser's totally, me being off the deal entirely.

I have a new car waiting for me at this point and the woman will only hold it for another week so I am being very optimistic, at this point I will offer $1000 to take over the lease, thats right, I will give away $1000 to take this lease over, thanks.

Jenner...If you had read the post right the first time you would have realized I said this is what you would have to put down, I did not put 4k down so get your info straight before you reply...
Next, I have seen in numerous papers around here $399 a month, same deal as mine with 5k down, so it is in the ballpark of 4k down for where I live, not sure about your deal, but again I am trying to sell my car and don't need people trying to knock me down when they really don't have all the information and can't make a legitimate gripe with me, so please from now on, PM me or something as to not make me look bad when I am just trying to get a fair deal to get myself a new car because this one is no longer suitable.

I love to post here, but there are so many people that are out to "expose" the crooks and I am not one of them, so please take your investigative instincts elsewhere and now with $1000 to take it over it is an even better deal

Easy there 2002S2K, there have been several bad sellers lately (take a look at "Where's ACE039 in the NOTES section of this forum). Jenner is trying to help out those on this forum that may be interested. As a member of the forum Jenner has the opportunity to look at the information people present.

I read the post the same way Jenner did. Now jumping in to defend Jenner, please take a look at: http://www.hondacars.com/info/financial_overview.asp

Then click on lease calculator.

This is Honda's own lease calculator. Jenner's figures are very close. I got your exact amount...

I used:
36 month lease
12,000 miles per year
$32,860 estimated selling price
$0 estimated trade in value
$0 Balance owed on trade in
$1786.50 additional down payment

and got
$420.23

You said you used Honda for the lease. These are the figures on their site. The figures in the paper may not be leases offered through Honda.

I would like you to get out of your lease, but let's be fair to anyone looking at this post.

I live on the east coast, these things do not sell at msrp, so therefore they will not be the right numbers.

I recently looked in The Asbury Park Press, a local paper and the deal was 36 months, 12k miles a year, with $4999 you could get the car for $399 per month.

Those are the deals around here, so it would take about $4000 to get these payments in our area
