Just buy the damn thing and have fun with it. There is no magical power in the AP1 or AP2. It's just a car. Buy it. Drive it. Love it. Good luck.

Drive them and pick which one you like best.

Id recommend the 04 since I prefer the looks and extra tq. I drove an ap1 for about 1 week before I deceided on the ap2

The difference between AP1 and AP2 is a lot more benign than we acknowledge on this board. The AP1 is a Macintosh apple, the AP2 is a Golden Delicious apple.....and every other car is a banana.

So, buy the best example you can find at the price you want to spend, and ignore everything else.

But, in your situation, the choice is obvious: silver sucks, go with red.

As in, one type of apple is different from another, but when compared to a different fruit, they are almost indistinguishable from one another.

Get the AP1, but be weary because those are more sensitive to over-revs than the ap2, so run a check on it.

Some good points, thanks for the input guys.

Well, some craptacular news: the Honda Certified '04 was sold today, but I noticed this gem:

Red '04 with 16k miles in excellent condition for $22,500
Red '03 with 31k miles in excellent condition for $21,877
These are sticker prices and I can probably talk them down to about $20k.

I like the rims on the '03 better, but that's it aesthetically. Problem is that the '04 is 100 miles west, and the '03 is 100 miles east... makes test driving both a bitch.
