HI, I'm seriously considering buying an S2K, StooK, S2000, whatever 
I'm a little leary now having read about all the TSB issues with the transmission (clutch, syncros). Should I be? What are your thoughts. I'm sure this is a biases group to ask this question to, but you are also an educated group. I'm hoping for some objective responses.

. All the major issues were fixed in the 2001 model. It is a Honda, very reliable car, very fast, hugs the road and sounds beautiful.

I think 3 TSB's in the first year run of a sports car is not bad. They worked out the problems for MY2001. That's the benefit of waiting for the second year of a production. You might want to wait for MY2002 since it's not yet known for sure if there will be any improvements. In any case, you'll get a lower price for the 2001. Hope you make the right choice. Cheers

The negatives are always out of balance to the positives. If something breaks then you talk about it. Some people login and post the absolutely nothing happened to their car today but not many. So you see the negatives amplified many many times their true dimension. 2-3 people having a problem translates to hundreds of posts from lots of people. But the guy who posts and says "Drove my car all day and it worked perfectly" sinks like a rock out of site.
So I encourage you to look at the numbers. If you look, many tallies have been done to count the exact number of problems and in all cases they are small. There is a chance that you might get a car that has a problem. It's a small chance, maybe 1/100 tops. But is that risk higher than any other car in it's class? Like BMW or Porsche? You need to look at the stats before making such a conclusion.
So 1/100 might have a problem. Look around at what those problems are. Clutch, syncros, pourous block, #4 cylinder defect, what else? Every one of these problems is well documented and has a warranty fix available. So where are the nagging problems? Those hundreds of little issues that people bitch about? The hundreds of problems from this not fitting to that squeeking?
They don't exist. The S2000 is built like a tank. It's so stiff and rigid that it feels like it's carved from a solid block of steel. Everything works. The stereo is shit so I don't listen to it. I drive the car. I don't f*** around with knobs and adjustments and buttons and displays and thankfully they didn't include any of those. The only thing they forgot was shift lights so I didn't have to look down to see when I hit redline. There are no problems because the car simply doesn't have all that shit that breaks. Look how many "ergonomic" problem other cars have. Go into a dealer and you find all kinds of cars in there for all kinds of reasons, sunroof, radio, garbage.
The thing is a freaking mechanical marvel. All of it's critical components are purpose built and easily serviceable even for an idiot like me. Like the brakes. Not racing quality but certainly some of the best stockers available. They are so easy to service it's shocking. A complete brake job can be done in 30 minutes single handled with two wrenches. It's absolutely fantastic. Look at the construction and the race bred design of everything in the car. I took out my two seats once and was amazed at how empty and skelital it looked without them. It's what you need in a two seat roadster, power, grace and the wind in your hair.
So do your research carefully and consider all the dynamics.

1) Rolls Royce recalls their 2001's after it turns out that they can explode after filling up the tank.
2) 1991 (1992?) RX-7's were recalled after they were blamed for several house fires due to poor heat shielding.
3) 2001 Celica's spontaneously explode or have engine fires.
Yep, the S2000 is a pretty good quality car! Don't think to hard -- if you want a real sports car, get an S2000.

I have been very fortunate to own a perfect MY '00 Stook. No grind; no clutch problems. I am as satisfied with this car as any I have ever owned, including Porsche and BMW. If you enjoy a true performance automobile, you definitely can't go wrong with an S2000. I look forward to your future posts!
