Never will buy again...
to chime in...
i don't think it's the brand. car dealers generally suck. the few that don't suck thus stand out. it sounds like in your area the MB dealer doesn't suck.
counter-example in the Bay Area:
i've dealt with two honda dealers that were both fine (and some others that sucked).
i went to Sonnen Porsche (was considering a C4). i waited for AN HOUR for a sales person. about 10 people came in after me and got seen. finally a "junior sales associate" came to see me. needless to say, after talking with her for 15 minutes a senior salesman came over.
nothing better than answering a call from a dickhead like that guy and saying "well... i wanted to buy the C4, love the car but had such a bad experience with your dealership that i bought an S2000 instead." grin

If you take a look at the auto edition of Comsumer Reports, it is interesting to note that Honda and most all the normal Japanese dealerships get the lowest rating. Their cars are rated the highest, the people who sell them are rated lowest, go figure.
I got to agree with most of the posts- don't blame the brand (Honda) for your mistake. Dealers are in it for the money, make no mistake about that. They'll screw you as much as possible to squeeze the most out of the sale. Its not nice, but its how they make the most money- and I understand a dealer can make a load if they are good.
But I think someone else said it already- if your a pushover and buy into the sale, then you'll get taken advantage of no matter where you go.
My suggestion- before you buy any car, read the information that is available free on the internet on how to do it. I think Edmunds or Car Point and others have instructional aids on what to watch out for, when leasing is best, what to look for in lease agreements, extra charges you can negotiate out of, how to get 2% over invoice (of course, not on s2000 haha), etc.
When you walk onto the lot without doing your research, you are a like a deer caught in their headlights.
