New appreciation for the S
Last Sunday I had the oppertunity to strap myself into a F2000 Formula car at the Bertil Roos Race School, thanks to my awesome girlfriend who got me a 1/2 session as a gift.

This the actual car I was driving
After being in a pure race car, I was worried that hopping back into my S would feel like driving a school bus. To my surprise I actually discovered what the engineers & designers of the S had in mind with this car...
It is a dead-accurate replica of a Formula car for the street. I'm not saying it is a race car. What I'm saying is the S hits exactly all the same emotional cues as the race car did, and it's clear to me that they intended to replicate that experience.
The feel of the shifter, the sound of the motor, the way the whole car vibrates when the motor is on the boil, the sharpness of the handling, the sensitivity to weight shifts, the precision of the steering, the open top experience, and yes... even the Start Button. It is as close to the race car experience as I'd want to get in a street car.
The next step for me is to do some track days with the S, as I know it can handle it. Then who knows, I may end up making my S even closer to a race car than Honda did.
PS- www.racenow.com for more info on the school, highly recommended!!
