Default new to the boards

Hey all,
just wanted to say hi, I just signed up on the boards.
I personally do not own an S2000, my dad does, but I'm gonna take care of it for him and hopefully buy if off of him after I get out of college (hehe )

ive got a question though:
I ran a search to find out what kind of oil to use in the car...
I was planning on puting in mobil 1 synthetic 10w30, but i read several people claiming that you should use honda type-r oil

also, what type of filter should i use? alot of imports tend to favor the OEM filters (i know my car does)

thanks all for the help!

Welcome!

Take good care of that ride.......especially if it is gonna be yours eventually.

I switched to Mobil 1 Synth 10w30 and love it. Motor idles smoother.

For the filter, OEM 15400 PCX-004 is the norm. Some have gone to the Hamp Synergy aftermarket filter - which I am told has more holes.

Don't let your Dad pull the rug out from under you!!! Get a contract stating that IF you maintain the car to high standards - you get first dibs when it comes time. Do what you must, but get that car!

Go to Manhonda.com or Hardtopguy for good prices on the OEM filter. You can buy a pack of 10 from Manhonda for $55.

HardTopGuy!!!!!

Really. He IS a Honda (Ganley) dealership. He just hooks up the best deals and ships to your door. What else can you ask for - except free labor!?!
