Default New car smell....gone?

I've had my car for 3 weeks now....and I enjoy that new car smell every time I get in the car. Is there a way to keep it smelling like that? So has anyone lost that new car smell?

That "new car smell" is the result of offgassing of the materials in the car.

Be thankful... I've always understood that this "off gasing" is somewhat toxic and can cause severe headaches and problems for some drivers.

My recommendation... Get some Ziano leather cleaner and conditioner and bring out the smell of the leather. It's great.

Wow...I have heard about this "off gasing" ..something about the fibers in the carpet or whatever being toxic.

Really weird... I paid $30K for a gas chamber

Oh well...it's like one of those things like the smell of fuel. I like that too...and it's toxic! I need help!

Yes it is gas released from the carpet glue and fiber the leather and the like.
But what people don't know is that automaker spent years trying to find a scent that they could spray on used cars to simulate that smell. Well they never got it to work, a few companies are still trying to get it to work but getting it to last is the real problem as you have noticed with the real thing.

My opinion go buy some real good leather cleaner and carpet cleaner and keep the S sparkling and have a nice smell.

Some have tried to replicate the new car smell, but I'm not aware of anything that works. I'd second the suggestion of going with Zaino products-- they all smell great!!!

ChiS2K: Try the leather interior car scent at girotsgarage.com.
Put your top up and spray a little on the carpet, and leave overnight. Not a fu-fu aroma, but the smell of leather. Works great. Item 11150 ($6.95) and no I don't work for Griots, but my 2000 still is like new.
