New Clutch and Diff!
Hey guys, Ive been thinking about upgrading my clutch and differential. Some questions I have though:
Can I replace the clutch with something strong and not have to worry about the diff?? or will the diff wear out faster with a stronger clutch installed??
What are the advantages of having both installed, as to just one of them?? Ex: just a clutch, or just a diff...
Also: Who makes aftermarket Clutches and Differentials for the S2000??? Anyone with experience?? Please Chime in!! Thanks.
P.S.> My clutch is fine and so is the diff, Ive just been thinking alot about how i can upgrade alittle bit just to reassure myself that a launch every once in awhile wont hurt it as much as it can now.

I think you might be confusing a "strong" clutch with one that grabs suddenly and hard (like a multi-puck type). The puck type have been described as a kind of ON/OFF switch and is difficult to drive on a daily basis. This type will convey a lot of shock to the rest of the drivetrain and will be hard on the diff and CVs.
You can get a "stronger" clutch with a heavy duty pressure plate. Hardtopguy has a nice "package" deal for an OEM disc and ACT HD PP and throwout bearing. This has been shown to be a good choice for a blown S2000, so it would surely work well for a NA car.
You can get one of a few aftermarket rear diffs but each one has its pros and cons. You might consider doing the Comptech reinforcement parts to beef up the stock diff about 15% - 20%. If you abuse your car or don't know how to use it correctly or don't tend to the diff's maintenance, no diff will survive anyway.
There are many examples of owners with stock cars who have blown diffs and many other examples of owner of supercharged cars with original clutches and rear diffs that have lasted tens of thousands of miles. It's not that they drive like pansies. Perhaps they simple know something.

Thanks for responding..
I guess what im looking into would be something like a heavy duty clutch that wont slip during hard shifts or launches... AND then a diff that will put up with that.
So i guess Id be looking into hardtopguys deal and also the comptech reinforced diff parts... I appreciate your response

Xviper knows what hes talking about. I went with the package off of hardtopguy's and couldnt be any happier. A little stiffer than stock but fine for a daily driver. Though I dont understand why it went up 40$'s in the past 2 months? But still a lot cheaper than your local Honda dealership. Do not get it done at Honda dealership, they quoted me @ 1000 bucks for labor.
