Default new guy here buying an s2k please help

Okay guys I'm a big fan of the s2000 and I've been really looking into getting one. I actually just sold ny truck to help me pay for one. The problem is I'm only 17, I don't have much cash. I'm in san Antonio tx if that makes any difference but I'm willing to drive for it. I hope I can be part of the s2k community

Welcome to S2ki! You can't try and get a loan?

I don't think that's a very good start, try and look for something else, there's lots of great cars for 6k. Parts for S2000's are expensive for a high school kid, unless your parents are going to fund it all. Also I strongly recommend a car that does not snap understeer.

Oh and redcelica, you cannot get a loan or have credit till you are 18.

Why would you sell your truck if you can't even find an S2000 yet? How are you able to get around?

In either case, why can't you work and save money for another few months? Buying the cheapest S2000 on the market is just asking for trouble. There is a reason why they're that cheap. You save a few grand now, but the car will demand your money/attention when you least expect it and that's when it sucks because you won't have money then. Patience young grasshopper.

Your chances are only so-so of finding an S2K you can work with in that price range. If you are set on it, keep looking for the salvaged ones and eventually you will get one (out of state possibility as well). Good luck, and as everyone has mentioned, make sure you understand what you are getting into.

6k will be really tough and if u do find one will prob be the oldest one with 200k miles broken soft top and bent rims with cracked bumpers. Even then it might be hard lol. if you can wait and save a little get i would say close to 10k it will save u troubles later down the rd than buying a cheap pos and fixing it

Will you have a few thousand dollars free to fix stuff on the crapshoot of a salvaged car you're trying to buy online? If not, then just wait.
