I was just wondering...
I have heard that the RSX (new Integra) will have an engine based off our beloved F20C. Now here is my question...now if the RSX is going to have a de-tuned version of our engine...will it be able to drop in our F20C?
My delima...
If the RSX will be able to just drop in the F20C...our cars will be stolen for the engine to be put in some import tuner that wants a F20C engine in their RSX.
This is currently happening to the Type R's right now. Regular Integra owners are paying big bucks for stolen Type R engines. Sadly, I know 2 persons in Houston that have had their Type R stolen in front of thier house. They have even told me stories about people following them home. The Type R is a awsome car...but I will never even think about owning one due to the danger element.
So...if the F20C will be able to drop into a RSX...bad news for us S2000 owners.

I doubt that the RSX engine can be "dropped" into the S2000, since the RSX engine is designed to be transverse, and will likely turn counterclockwise as in the past.
Does anybody know if the new RSX engine turns in the same direction as the F20C?

Typer_00,
Yep...my friend ITR got his yellow Type R stolen after he moved into Houston from Canada (2 months), and only had 2,000 miles on the car. Sheesh...not a good welcome to Houston.
ITR now has a silver S2000...but I know he misses his Type R.
OH...I had another friend who had a Type R with the Japanese front end and some 18 inch Racing Hart Type C's that got held up at gunpoint for his car.
I fortunately have never been held up for any of my cars...I woundn't risk my life for the automobile loss...but I would definately risk it for the revenge factor. After all, if the jacker is dumb enough to leave me standing...because of the soft top...it will be like shooting fish in a barrel when he climbs into the S2000.

This is true of engines made in Ohio - but how about Japanese-made engines?

In the March issue of Road and Track, they say that the RSX engine is completely new...and like everyone else says, it's FWD so I doubt the S2000 engine can be dropped in.

Unicron,
This reminds me of the time one of my friends got jacked in Oakland. He was getting gas at a Chevron and when he was paying for the gas, some black guy jumped in his car and took off! Funny shit was, his girlfriend was still in the damn car!! Luckily he just dropped her off somewhere else later and didn't do anything, but that was some crazy shit. Good thing I don't live in Oaktown man...
