Hi, I currently drive an Audi S3 but it's a company car which goes back soon, and I am a bit bored of it - doesn't give me a big grin very often!

Went for a test drive today in a Civic Type R, and an S2000 and all I can say is WOW.

The CTR was dull - gutless below 6k rev's, and even then only mildly impressive.

Nearly didn't bother with the S2k as I thought it would be similar, but luckily decided to give it a go.

AMAZING! I have never got out of a car with such a big grin which lasted all the way home for about 2 hours!

Now I just need to find the money for the finance and insurance.

At the moment I am trying to decide between going all out for the new version (costs about

I think i can speak for the board and say We know exactely how you felt after your first test-drive Ive only had mine 4 months but i so love it. I opted to buy a used low-mileage S2000 in near perfect condition since the insurance on a new 2003 (at the time) or a 04 would just kill me! I would suggest calling your insurance and get a quote since for me, that was the deciding factor in the end. By the way, i see youre in Britain so you guys dont use the Euros's correct cuz that price you qouted seemed on the low side. Well good luck with your purchase! Either way youll be one happy motorist for a long time, like myself!

the "older version" has a higher red line... to those of us who own them, we really enjoy the high rpms- and staying in vtec longer.
the "newer version" has better lower end torque-
guess it depends on what you are looking for... the older versions should be less expensive too.
maybe you could check out the cars at a local meet. did you find the local club sites on this board?

You need to remember there are about 1.87 pounds to the $. So 27,000 pounds is $50,490.
You mean 0.5347593 pounds to the dollar...

$50,490 = OUCH!
