Over the holidays, I couldn't wait for Rick's head rests so I left my S2000 at my local Romanian immigrant mathematical and leather genius, Johan. He finally called me and here are the results:

Material and color match is perfect with S2000 black leather interior. No more breeze through the mesh.

From the rear:

Johan is not happy with the first two (prototypes). He will correct what he sees as the imperfections of his initial effort and expects that he can make them for about $75 - $80 each.

looks great! I appreciate the rear picture too. I dont want the cut-out headrest look to go away.

Looks Great!
My wife got tired of me whining about the draft, so she whipped out a couple them out of Naug. They look pretty good, and only cost $4.00

She's so good to me!

Fireslayer, you are a lucky man! If you can, would you post some pix of your wife's labor of love?

Your car looks beautiful and not that you asked... but the headrest looks outright hideous. Plus that sheepskin whatever on the seatbelts... wouldn't want to be seen with it over my chest.

But, again, let me stress that the rest of your car is gorgeous. So clean!

Hi Spaceneedle

I agree with you about the fleece seat belt covers. X mas present. I've been thinking about taking them off for a week, but funny thing about them is they're like tribbles. You just want to pet them. Also kind of warm and fuzzy about the neck - very nice while riding around at night with the top down when the temp hits the 50s.

I like the head rest cushions and think they are a good match for the interior. Can't see how you could think they're hideous, but different strokes...

I also agree with you that the black S2000 is a darn fine looking machine, and I did just wash it before pictures were taken.

Just compared the look of the headrests with the Hesel design;

+ The edge seam is nice, mirroring the seat design
- They are too big
- Shape doesn't seem to quite follow the curve of the chair

Overall good, but too conspicious because of the size. IMHO, of course.

Sure they're big, Bassman. How else could I fit the dual subwoofers in the headrests? I think it's good that we have two designs of headrests to pick from. I like the larger design. I also like Rick's design. Choice is good, no?

Dual subwoofers! Now you're talking! I'm BassMan, you know!

Seriously though, choice is good, and as more people like you modify their cars and come up with new add-ons the more the less inventive types like me will benefit. Thanks for sharing, and hopefully the rest of us can contribute in some other way down the line.

Keep at it!

Hmmm. Bet they make you look like a pimp while driving with them on though
