Default New mods...

Well I figured that I would ask for some educated advice for my next mods so here it goes...

Choice #1: Buy a used comptech header ($500), used 60mm single exhaust ($500), used VAFC-II ($200), and get a tune (price unknown as of now.)..

Choice #2: Buy 4.77 gears (about $400, with install closer to $900), and still get the VAFC-II with tune.

My current setup as far as performance mods are a Comptech intake and Invidia test pipe.

Both of these options are in a similar price range, just wondering what everyone's opinion is on this.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I'd go with two. gears will be much more fun and noticable (performence wise).

Where are you able to get the gears for 400?

I would go with gears, you can get them even cheaper if you use Kia gears.

I say gears! But instead of tune and VFAC, maybe you could get a nice cat back?

That is an idea, but I really was not sure that a cat back yields any results. I thought maybe waiting until i could get a full exhaust..

i had the vfac, i can tell you that you wont notice much change and the tune was close to $400 for me, the gears with a catback will be your best bet plus its a 2'fer with performance and sound. also if you do some header research you'll routinely find less than 10 HP boost for such an expensive bolt on, its more for weight saving from what i read. check out hardtopguy's gear install kit for those 4.77's and dont forget a yellow box! g'luck and Gears FTW!

Gears, for two reasons. 1) I have heard they are the best bang for your buck in terms of noticeable performance and 2) I don't like the look of a single exhaust.
