Well, possibly
Yesterday afternoon I went and looked at a slightly used 2003 S2000. Only 1200 miles on it. Grand Prix White with Tan interior. Right now the deal is too good to pass up it seems. They are giving it to me for an incredibly low price and they are giving me an excellent deal on my trade in. They let me take it until monday and I'm having a great time with the car. The weather has been ok so I've been able to put the top down for periods of time.
Car drives, sounds and feels great. The only quirk I have about the car is the interior. It leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion and feels very cheap. However the drive/fun factor compensates for that.
The car is taking a bit of getting used to. A lot of shifting is necessary through residential area's/non freeways and highways.
I dont want the 04 model due to the fact that I dont like the exterior changes nor do I like the differences in driving.
The only other car I'm looking at is a G35Coupe 6MT. Price is higher obviously and they aren't giving me as much on my trade in for my 2001 S4. But overall the car is gorgeous, on the inside too
. So by monday I will either own a 2004 G35coupe 6MT or a 2003 GPW S2000.
Obviously this board is going to be a bit biased but which would you choose given the opportunities?
Thanks for any input

seriously...you pick what you like better.
but if you ask me, i really dont think inside is that bad. it is made well.
again its your car so , think about it and pick the one you like better.

ooo.... I love the g35 coupe. You cant go wrong with that. I think that car made Car and Drivers top 10 for 2004 also. I guess you have to decide what you want. Both are different, but in good ways. No frills pure sports car convertible, or a sport touring car where you can get all the options, like heated seats and gps.
I wanted a roadster convertible this time around, so that is why I chose the s2000. Out of all the roadsters, I liked the s2000 for its performace, looks, and price.

One big factor is whether the S is your only driver. If so, the g35 might be a better bet -- depending on your requirements.
As a second car (or only car for those without the requirement for a back seat, etc.), nothing beats the S in its price range (a Z8 might be a better roadster if cost in no object).

yes the car I buy will be the only car I have. I'm 20 years old so I have no need for room or anything practical like that
I just need room for my dog and my acoustic guitar and I'm set.
I've pretty much decided on the S2000 incase anyone wants to know. After putting it lightly through the paces this evening this car is just too much fun not to have.
And besides I want a car to be all out fun from now on. I currently have a 2001 audi S4 and it's nice; but far to sedated for my likings. reminds me of something a 30 year old would drive (nothing against 30 YO's) but hell; you're only young once

leave some room in the budget for next winter for some good snow tires. Otherwise, I didnt realize you were from Minneapolis, so it will be good to have anohter s2000 owner in the area!
Or get a beater for winter.
What color?

The G35 Coupe is a beautiful car. I'd say that you have to go with what you like most.
After all these years, I'm wondering why I didn't buy an S2K sooner. I love having a converible and can't believe what I've been missing out on. The car is a Honda. It's reliable, looks great, handles great, performs great and gets good gas mileage. The interior is not cheap to me, but it's definitely not "luxuary" like the G35 or other cars. But it's comfortable. I've owned numerous Hondas and Acuras, including an Integra Type R. I loved that car the most out of all the cars I've owned. But the S2K tops it, easily. I even had a WRX, but that car sucked!
Like they say, "You don't ride in the S2000 so much as you fit in it like a glove."
Test drive both. Find out what is more important to you and what gives you a smile when driving.
